Dawid Scumwalski This is yet another pure harsh noise offering from Scream & Writhe. "Muted" by MURMUR/MUTTERING has all the expected components, albeit luckily, it's not just a pure wall of sound; there are some dynamics (in terms of volume) and variety in terms of sound sources and collage components. I enjoyed listening to it, even multiple times, but I doubt this one will get stuck in my head. It's 'just' good.

Murmur (Halifax, NS) and muttering (Littleton, CO) come together in a showcase of new noise talent.

Murmur returns to AE after 2022's "Getting By". Predominantly residing in the lower end of the volume dial on "Evening Special", the ruminations are still interspersed by the project's signature piercing shrieks and in-the-red blurs.

muttering lands on AE following a string of self-releases and a tape on AAD. "Nihilistic Easy Rider" offers mechanical loops that evolve into dense, harsh crumble and a sustained period of stomach-churning low end.

A well-matched and refreshing pairing of new blood carving their paths.

Tourette is a French composed/cut-up harsh noise artist which holds a special place in my heart, as we have both started out at around the same time (2003/2004), and we both did releases for the phenomenal Harshnoise label based in San Francisco. When Tourette speaks, the room gets silent and everybody carefully listens to what he has to say.
